Is there an easier way to add a network printer to OSX then having to manually enter the name/ip address? For pcs, I would just browse to my print server, double click on the printer I wanted to install and that was it. Is there a way to do that on a Mac?
It should show up in the default printer list if the printer supports rendezvous/bonjour. What brand and model is your printer? What version of OS X are you running?
I tried setting up bonjour last nigh and could not get it to print. I have a cannon ip5000. My pc could see the printer and imac, but couldnt print to it, no errors, just nothing came out.. ? ? ?
You need a CUPS driver to use your printer in this way. Download and install Gutenprint. The Canon PIXMA iP5000 printer is supposed to work with the CUPS driver for the PIXMA iP4100.
