I have a G4 mac laptop with mac osx (10.2.8) After install the operating system and the ADSL drivers in my new Lacie external hard drive i can't start up with my internal hard drive, the start up disk is not detecting it even when i try with the operating system CD and i have to choose the destination folder, it does'nt detect the internal, the only thing that detects it is when i select the first aid, but then I can't repair the disc.
I now that the internal is damage, when i verify the disc for see if there is any trouble with the first aid, it said that the keys are out of order and that the disk is damage.
I didn't try with the Norton CD yet, I don't now why i don't thing that is going to sort it out.
When i start the disk with the external the first thing that the desktop show me is one window that says one disk attempt to mount but the verification has failed. :( :(

Do not use Norton ! Get Drive 10 or Disk Warrior to scan that drive. It sounds like it is severely damaged. Make sure you run the utility on the drive more than once.

Hmmm, I can remember I read about something similar before. Use search. Maybe you will find something. Good luck and welcome to the forum :)
