Airport Express woes

My Airport Express keeps stalling and it's only 10ft from my Mac divided by a 4" plasterboard wall. So I'm wondering if I set it up as a separate network rather that joining my existing network will it work any better. I don't mind switching between networks to go on-line if it works. I could just reconfigure it and try but I've had all sorts of problems setting it up (I find the reset very hit and miss), so a firm yes or no from someone who knows would save me a lot of hassel.

Configuration: G4 450DP, 1GIG RAM, Airport Card, Linksys WAG354G modem/router.

Thanks

I'm not familiar with Airport Express but I do know that some plasterboard has an aluminium foil backing ("aluminum" foil in American!) You could check for this with a 2 pound (3 dollar) pipe locator.

Change the wireless channel on the Linksys. Keep changing until you find one that works well. Channel 12 works for me.
