Apple Policy?

Well, I convinced my brother to switch! However, I hadn't talked to him in a while and he went ahead Sunday and purchased a 15" iMac from as Apple Store. Tonight I told him about the updates, but I wasn't sure what he could do about it. Doesn't Apple have a policy of refunding you the difference or something else? Thanks.

no, generally apple will let you change an order if they still haven't shipped it yet, but i think if you buy it at the store, you're stuck with the deal you got. apple isn't Best Buys (thank God) and you wouldn't go to your grocery store and ask for a difference refund if the steak and pototoes you bought went on sale the next day.
of course, it couldn't hurt for him to try. either way he got a great product and will have many an enjoyable computing experience on it.

this happened to me when i bought my powermac, they delayed it a few extra days and told me that they were sending me the updated one, so most likely he will get an updated imac :)

im surprised, i see so many people bitch about it on the apple discussion boards and basically what they are told is to suck it up and deal with it. its nice apple has such a policy. 30 days would be nicer like most shops but you cant have it all. :D

Do some computer companies allow you to actually return their product if you're not completely satisfied? I know some products you can do this, for example buying a camcorder from Sears. Just curious, I asked the guy if I bought a camera and didn't like it, he said I could return it within 30 days. I guess with computers being so much more that it's a risk computer makers can't take.

...here in Greece Rainbow Computers (the closest thing in Apple here in Greece) doens't have a refund policy as well as other shortcomings compared to the real Apple...

As for Apple having such a policy (I don't know if it is global Apple policy or just US Apple) what gives if there are more than 1 Macs in question? For example, many times we sell 2-4 Macs in the same people (companies for example): What Apple does in such scenario? Or even when the number can be as big as 10 or 20 Macs at once? Will they still refund/change the Macs? Let me know because I find this VERY interesting
