applescripting quit program befor sleep?

hi all

i have never used applescript and dont know if this is possible; but....

is there a way/routine to close an app (in this case ChronoSync) before putting the computer to sleep - as i have it set to "sync/backup" data before quiting the program.

i tend to leave my machine to sleep overnight - hence the need to have chronosync to quite before sleeping.

If this is not possible then i am open to opinions as to find the 'closest' alternative

You can have ChronoSync automatically wake your computer at the scheduled time by turning on the “Wake system to synchronize” feature in the ChronoSync Preferences dialog.
