Apps quitting

Recently got an iMac 1.25 and installed various bits of software, including Office v.X and Freehand MX.

No problems at first – they ran fine, but now these apps won't open. They give me the "unexpectedly shit" error whilst loading up. I've trashed the prefs and reinstalled the apps but to no avail.

Also on my PowerBook G3 500 the same apps are giving me problems as well as Suitcase X1, where I get the dreaded beachball of death for ever. Force quitting is the only way out.

I've digested and tried all of the solutions in Mac OSX, The Missing Manual but I still get no joy.

Anyone else had these problems, and know of a solution?

Dowloaded latest updates for your apps?
Office, freehand, and suitcase all have updates within last month or 2

Lack of updates shouldn't prevent the applications from launching completely like he says they are.

Suitcase X1 doesn't have any updates as of this posting -- its the most recent release they have.

What other software are you running? Any haxies? What are your login items?

Suitcase X1 may be giving you problems over a corrupt font or something... exactly how many fonts are you trying to load into Suitcase?
