I have tried a straight Tiger upgrade from 3.9.x (4, I believe) which didn't work and an archive and install which didn't work. Now there is no bootable system.
I did backup (using a software that only backs up things I have permissions for) my Home folder before attempting to upgrade.
Now I wonder if I should just install, or erase and install. Will there still be old data available and somehow accessible if I just install or will it all be gone except for what I've backed up?
And should I, using target-disk mode and another Mac, do a straight copy of my home folder and possibly my apps onto my BU drive to be safest before I take the next step in upgrading?
Finally, (for now )when I'm up and running with Tiger, can I import my Mailboxes from my backed up Home folder?
Thanks!
