Binding Leopard to Active Directory

I'm trying to bind my MacBook Pro to an active directory. I have the DNS records setup to point to the right DNS server (which is the active directory server) and then when I go into Directory Utility and type the name of the active directory it gives the following error:

Unable to add the domain.

There was no response from KH. please check that the address you entered is correct.

I also tried KH.local which is the actual domain name but got the same problem. I tried going into terminal and pinged kh.local and it came back with a response. Any ideas here?

P.S. I'm running Mac OS X 10.5.3

Did you try reading the MacWindows Leopard reports yet to see if you can find a fix there? Do a search on DNS on the page and you will see several suggestions. The few I saw was there specific one of making the point of making sure both the Mac and server were on the same time and making sure you have SMB turned on in the Mac.
