Ok i am newcomer in MacOSX but i have experience with unix boxes.

My computer have a freebsd 6.0 , Windows XP SP2 and now MacOSX(Tiger 10.14) .

I switch between them through windows xp boot.ini , everything runs smoothly except when i boot to MacOSX i need to shutdown my cable modem to Mac OSX detect ip number(which is pretty annoying) . Windows and Freebsd dont have this problem, they boot and got dhcp correctly.

My NIC is a "Classical" 3com Etherlink XL 10/100 and i already change my Nic to Half Duplex and problem mantains.

I enable/disable firewall (i suppose its ipfw but i dont know, btw how i setup rules ? ) and problem mantains.

My problem is my cable modem is a motorola and dont have a shutdown button so i need to disconnect power everytime i boot to MacOSX.

My main problem inow is actually handling the Mac Interface i dont know for example where is Xterm .
