Yeah, Macs are cool here. On Windows, you'd need some extra software to print as PDF.

Not only do you need extra software on the dark side, but you get really crappy PDFs from it (PDF Writer print driver). While the 'Save as PDF' function in OS X creates ok to good PDFs, it's still not quite the same quality wise as the ones comming from Acrobat 6 or InDesign's export feature. Most of the time they're good enough for simple printing on most presses/printers.

is there a way to set the _quality_ of these pdfs? because in some cases i found that converting a word doc (a graduation thesis, so with a lot of images...) i've seen that the size of the document increases, while in other cases, converting a poster created in powerpoint (with MANY high resolution images), i've seen a huge reduction of the size.....
