Cannot Format Powerbook G4!

Hi crew,

I've tried EVERYTHING to fix this Powerbook G4. I reached to point where formatting and starting again was the fix. But I can't even erase the Hard Drive in disk utility ("error 20")!

Is there any way to completely remove a hard drive without using disk utility? Or has anyone got another suggestion to help me out?
 
yes. tried to install disc. no luck! I think the HD mite b stuffed but was hoping for a solution before having to replace it.
