Car Adapter Hack?

I have a VST car adapter from my pismo days. Is there any issue with cutting the cord and soldering on a cord for a G4 tibook?

There is a 1.25 MA difference between the pismo and tibook power setting. Normally for electronics that isn't an issue. I want to confirm before I cut the end off and solder on one of these...

Before you cut and solder, try to find an adapter. I think somebody makes a plug adapter, I just can't remember who.
