CD Copy? Total newbie...

Hey guys, I'm totally new to Mac, recent convert.

I just realized that I don't know how to copy a CD in Mac OSX. Just, a data CD, take the contents and duplicate it onto a CD-R.

Is there some way to do this? One CD-Rom Drive btw. iBook.

Thanks!

use Roxio Toast 5.2 Titanium (an absolutely essential application) to make a disk image, and then burn that disk image.

Isn't there a free lite version of Roxio ?

If not, just drag the whole to the disk and copy back to disc.

I have also used Apples disk utility tool to create a disk image and copy that to the destination CD.

Cheers,

Brooke :D

hey Harvey, I have a small program that should do it for you. What's your e-mail address or chat screenname?

You just want to copy a CD?
That can be done with Apple's Disk Copy, free with OS X.
All you do is insert the disk you want to copy, drag it from the desktop onto the window of the open Disk Copy application, and when it has finished making the image, select Burn Image from the File menu.
Bingo, a carbon copy and you didn't pay a cent! :)

There is Toast Lite, which allows you to burn data CD's, music CD's, and duplicate CD's (and nothing else), but I have been unable to find it online recently, just the updater. Look around, try to find it, and if you are unable, contact Roxio and ask for Toast Lite.
