Classic Won't Start: No permissions TruBlueEnvironment

I recently installed a drive for my new firewire ext. hard disk, for some reason this seemed to change my internal hd (Macintosh HD) to read only when I was logged in as an administrator.

I think I have messed up the permissions settings when I logged in a root user to get access to read + write for my harddisk.

Now, when I try to open an application that runs in Classic, I get an error message that says that I do not have permissons and that TruBlueEnvironment, must be set to SetUid ROOT (or something like that, sorry I am not on my mac at when writing this post).

I have seen mention of permissions setting elsewhere on this forum, but none that I can understand, I am new Mac OSX and need an idiots type guide, sorry.

Any help greatly appreciated, Thanks,

What version of OS X are you using? In Jaguar (10.2.x) in the Utilities folder is Repair Privileges. If you are running an older version of OS X you must download Repair Privileges from Apple's web site. Run that and things should be corrected.
