does director mx have a viable future

id like to hear what everyone thinks about the role that director mx has in the grand scheme of multimedia.

what are its present and future strenghs in the ever growing nature of multimedia - or is it a dead horse waiting to die.
 
I heard that Flash and Director might become one app, I doubt that, but thats what i heard. I use Flash on a regular basis, and Flash seems to be getting stronger, but there are so many things that Director can do that Flash can't at this time. Director is a great app, but when you can accomplish the goal with Flash or maybe LiveStage Pro, Director seems to be fading away. I'd get to know LiveStage, thats just a great app.
 
As much as I hate to say it, Director MX will die a slow, painful death if the pressure isn't put onto the multimedia professionals to get switched over to OS X. :(
 
Another problem is having to have two version of Director to create platform specific projectors. I think that really hurts Director as well.
