I have a G5 PCI-E with 2 DVI ports. Up until this past week, I have been using an old tube type monitor and converting the signal with a DVI to VGA converter. We had a power short circuit at the house and now I cannot get a signal to the monitor. I also have a brand new ViewSonic 24" monitor, connected it up with a DVI-DVI cable and it doesn't work.
My question is: is a DVI card as easy as any card to replace?
Is a DVI port susceptible to electrical spikes that could make it useless?
I have tried 2 monitors and neither work now.
Thanks for any help with such a vague question.
