epson scanner problem

Hi,

I bought an Epson Perfection 1260 last week, and attached it to my Mac with Jaguar. The manual says that the fluorescent lamp turns off if you dont use the scanner for 15 minutes.

But mine doesn't... the lamp never turns off, unless I unplug the power cord.

Anybody else having this problem and knowing how to solve it?

I have a Umax, and I have to unplug it when it is not in use. Is there a control panel for the Scanner? You can check that out. Your next step should be to connect Epson.
