File Sharing: Mac OS File Server vs. Window File Server

Were considering the possibility of purchasing a Mac OS file server -or just share file with our Windows file server that's in place. Anyone have some pros and cons? Is there a big consern or a big "no-no" with allowing Mac clients share the same file server with Windows clients?

Things to consider:
1. Compatibility
2. Domain Authentication

What I have found this to work. If you need windows PCs to use the server, then by far use the windows server. Now if you have more macs then PCs then setup a cheap G4 Power Mac as a file server for the macs then have the mac server crosslinked to your windows server so that your files are swaped from one server to the other. That way the Windows PCs will not make you hate your job. and so the macs will be able to talk to a server that they like. You can make Mac's like windows but it's one hell of trick to pull off. That is just because MS likes to play ball by there own rules. So I like said is have two servers setup and crosslinked.
