Firewire Drive not showing up in Finder

Have been using a Lacie 120G Firewire Drive for a few months. Unmounted and disconnected drive in order to plug in a second drive we were backing up to. Then, when we plugged the Lacie back in it won't show up in Finder, Disk Utility, System Profiler, etc. Other Firewire drives show up fine. Am running OS X 10.3.9. Have checked drive on another Mac and it does not show up there either.

Any suggestion on how to remedy this? The data on the drive is extremely valuable.

Have you tried rebooting your computer and unplugging/turning off and plugging/turning on all the connections back in? You might also want to try another firewire cable and wiggling the firewire connection on the end of the firewire drive.

If I recall, some of these devices have two firewire ports however the device will only be recognized if you plug it into the correct port on the device. You might want to try switching the ports if there are more than one on the back.
