Hang on logout

I have recently deployed a new OS build for my company and migrated all my users from local home folders to network home folders and OD authentication. It's all working OK except for a coupe of things which are puzzling. Some of my users experience a lock up or hang when they log out. All the apps close and the screen clears but the user is never quite logged off - the users desktop pattern is all the remains. I can ssh and ARD onto the box so things are still running.
During one of these hangs I've ssh'd onto the box and taken a look at what is running. Using a ps -aux command I notice that the pbs service shows up as running as root and the command is displayed in () i.e (pbs). Doesn't this mean the process is hung up waiting for either it's dependants or it's parent to finish?
Either way I can't kill it off - kill -9 doesn't do it.
The only thing I can do is switch the machine off.

The pbs service command could be a red herring. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers

Not a solution I'm afraid. I have random hangs on shut down. If I wait long enough I get a message saying that Mirror Agent has not quit. Mirror Agent is associated with iDisk synching. I do not have iDisk on any auto or scheduled synching, so it's a puzzle. Do the people who have the problem have an iDisk account?

Dear Macjock,

I am having the same problem and was wondering if you found the solution.
Regards,
Cristina
