Hardware error - DVD

I got an error while trying to burn a DVD. My iMac G5 stated it detected a hardware error, something about a sense code, and 0x01 0x03. Can anyone advise what the heck this means and what I can do about it. My computer is two years old, and this is the first time I've had trouble burning a DVD.
 
try using some other DVD-Rs you may have a bad DVD-R media type. That sometimes happens. If that don't help try running the hardware test, on you install disks. The drive may be going bad. But first try using other DVD-Rs first.
