Help Me Deleted Finder From Dock

I'm new to macs and I just bought a new mouse that doesnt work very well and, well it caused me to drag the finder out of the dock. How do I get it back in there? The icon is still sitting above the dock. Please help.

woh, how the heck did you do that? Have you restarted or loged out and then back in?

Other people would like to find out how to remove the Finder icon from the dock (not really possible that I know about). A faulty mouse is not to blame, but how did you do it, really? (moving an icon out of the dock produces a 'poof" and disappears?

Provide screen shot of this event? Not sure it is possible. If so, it should reappear after a logout or reboot.

The Finder icon sits at the top of the Dock. Is this what you're seeing?

restart finder. (apple/command + option/alt + escape). it might be just not responding.

if no difference, try to restart and see if it works better.

i have force quit finder a few times from terminal - and all those times the mac shut down immediately. they don't run without it.
