I want to know if there is a way to add a keyboard shortcut to the Hide Others item in the Finder menu in Mac OS 10.1. I have noticed that this is available by default in later Mac OS releases. It is option + command + H, but this combination is set to the Home item in the Go menu.
It seems a bit of a bad choice because the Hide Finder item has its command + H shortcut, and I almost never use that compared to the fact that I use hide others almost every time I have to use the finder while using other applications. Possible solutions may include a piece of software to create custom key shortcuts.
Just thought I should add that other applications such as my web browser Camino have the correct keyboard shortcut for there Hide Others item.
