How can I stop the Dock from opening a blank page when...

You talking to me!
... clicking on an apps icon?

This is a little thing that bugs the hell out of me. When you switch to a app using the Dock by clicking on its icon it will open a blank document in that app if no document/page is open. I have noticed this so far in Safari which isn't so bad as you usually need to open a new window, but in Freehand its a real pain in the a#$.

Anyone have any ideas how to switch this 'feature' off?

Thanks in advance.

Hi wiz, Racer D

Yeah I thought that should be the case but I cannot for the life of me find a preference in Freehand or Safari to do that. It could be one of those nice hidden prefs only accessible through a prefs editor or something. I'll give that a try.

Arden,

Yes I do use Command-Tab alot but sometimes its quicker with the mouse.

Anyway keep those suggestions coming, thanx guys.

That I can understand, but it may be that the only way to solve your problem is either Cmd-Tab or click, Cmd-W.
