I have a Quicktime Pro.dmg but an older version and I want to substitute my mac's Quicktime basic version with this one! I deleted Quicktime's folder from the application's window but I still have it installed on my mac!

WHY that happens? The earlier quicktime's installer says that is unable to install to the existing volume because a newer version of QUICKTIME exists!!

Navigate to /Library/Receipts and remove the QuickTime.pkg file (or similarly-name file). Then try installing again.

Be wary when you do this, though, as your "older" version of QuickTime may be incompatible with your operating system if the OS is newer and the QuickTime Pro version is older.

Also, there is absolutely no difference between QuickTime and QuickTime Pro in terms of the files they install -- everything you need to use QuickTime Pro is there when you install the regular QuickTime -- simply enter your legitimate serial number in the "QuickTime" pane of the System Preferences, and you've got QuickTime Pro.
