How to sync a Palm with AvantGo ? /dev/pilot ?

I'm a big Mac OS X fan and a stong PalmOS supporter. The latest version of Palm Desktop 4.0 for Mac OS 10 is huge.

But the best application on Palm is not supported ! AvantGo. There is an alternative for FreeBSD: MalSync

But I can't find the proper port to connect to my Palm device thru the USB cradle... The documentation says I should configure the malsync executable to reach my Palm device with /dev/pilot or /dev/ttyS0 or /dev/ttyS1
But nothing happened :

Unable to bind to port '/dev/ttyS1'.

Is there an Unix guru who can help me ?

OK, I should read the manual more carrefully : there is no support to USB. Only to ADB port. Any volunteer to develop a USB version from the source code ?

I think you mean serial port...
