Just upgraded my old PowerMac G3 to a new G5 running Tiger. I didn't want to ditch my HP LaserJet 5MP because: a) it was expensive; and, b) it's still a great printer.
After doing some looking around I got a Farallon EtherMac iPrint Adapter and a LocalTalk adapter and hooked them up to my Ethernet Router using some phone cable and an Ethernet cable. Only problem is I can't get my Mac to "see" the printer to add it to my printer list.
Somebody suggested something about creating an AppleTalk port in my Network panel, but I'm afraid I'm a one person office and never had to do any of this before. In the good old days I would plug it in, install some software and the printer would be there.
Any help on how to set this up and get the printer to work would be greatly appreciated.
