I may have messed up my firewire extensions

Hi,

So I'm having troubles with a external firewire drive after upgrading to Tiger, and I saw a possible fix that suggested messing with some of the firewire extensions in the System > Library > extensions folder. (the location of a whole lot of .kext files)

What I did was move a few of the firewire extensions out of the appropriate folder to a new one on the desktop. (I didn't want to delete the files, in case I broke it and needed them again). So this didn't fix my problem, so I moved them back.

Well, I have now lost all firewire functionality (at least as far as I can test).

I'm wondering is there a way to repair the firewire extensions (and therefore the firewire functinality) without having to reinstall the entire OS?

Thanks
