Ibook G4 crashes frequently. Happens quickest when watching internet video or playing video games, but will crash in Itunes as well, or just from sitting idle.
When watching video, or video game, it will eventually freeze on an image and then the audio will start skipping - tick -tick-tick (this is not mechanical drive noise but an audio loop).
Typically I can restart it a couple times, but before long on boot I will just get a blue screen. If I let it rest an hour or so, or overnight, it will boot up fine. I can usually check email, do some internet stuff for some time before it eventually hangs up again.
Does this sound MORE like a hard drive failure or the infamous IC Vreg chip problem? Or something else?
I did attempt to re-flow the solder on pins, no change. Computer works as before....
THANKS!
