iDVD3 compatible with 3rd party drives?

Is iDVD3 (with iLife) compatible with 3rd party drives?

I just got a Pioneer A05 (essentially next gen superdrive) and was thinking about getting iDVD3 for quick and dirty stuff (I already have DVD Studio Pro, but it's too messy for little projects).
 
I don't believe so. There was some fuzzy wording somewhere on Apple's site that seemed to imply that iDVD 3 would work with 3rd party drives. Later on, it says NO.

Yeah, I'm kinda-of wondering also. And also, what is the exact "SuperDrive" maker and model? Is it the Pioneer A05?
 
the manufacturer is Pioneer but they're not currently using the A05 as the superdrive.

to answer the original question, no iDVD doesn't support it out of the box, but I have seen many sites posting info on how you can get it to work using a 3rd party drive.
