If I am running iMovie and want to insert an image, I go to the photo browser and select the iPhoto library.
What I have noticed is that the iPhoto library seems to have been loaded only when I launch iMOvie. If I add a photo to the iPHoto library after iMovie is launched, there is no way to make it appear in the iMovie version of the iPhoto library without closing and re-opening iMovie.
Is there a shortcut to re-sync to the iPhoto library?
I find the same problem if I add songs to iTunes. I need to exit and relaunch iMovie for it to recognize that the new song is in iTunes.
