indexing hardisk/cd/server???

Anyone knows a good app to index my hardrives, cd's and server-disks????
We used catalogue on MacOS 9, but the app is old and not updated anymore for X :(
It must be a OSX app because on januari we don't want to use 9 anymore (if possible)
 
Is Sherlock insufficient? I could have sworn there was something built into OS X for indexing a drive.

Try the Find box... Cmd-F in the Finder, there should be something in there. If it lets you search by contents, there should be an option to let the computer figure out what the contents are.
 
yes, i've used sherlock in os 9
but can't find the indexing feature anymore in 10.3.x
i'm testing disktracker now at the moment
it seems to werk well both on os 9 and osx 10.3.x
 
Indexing in OS X is built into the Finder. Just highlight the drive, cd, or whatever, do a get info on it, then when the info window comes up. Click on the Content index arrow and push the "Index Now" button.
