Insomniac iBook - won't sleep

Add-on to an earlier post...

G3 iBook/10.3.7 + Apple mouse... stops working after a while - fine again after restart.
Routinely repair permissions and run Disk Warrior etc - problem returns.
------

Also recently refusing to sleep - immediately wakes when slept.

Suggestions appreciated. Please and thanks.
