Installing Panther

Hey,

I am sitting around feeling slightly annoyed with this whole Panther stuff. Just when I have got my 10.2.6 working as I want it to do, Apple releases this.

Very well... Do I have to reformat my harddrive to install Panther? hould be a reasonable pain in the arse in that case

I now run 10.2.6 and I don't want to format and loose all data on disc to install Panther if it can be avoided.

Any good ideas on this?

Sorry of this topic has already been covered, I poked around for a bit but could not find what I was looking for.

Hey

Panther is not released out yet - the one we are talking about is just the developers beta. jaguar is sure more stable (grr!).

When it'll be out (unless you have the beta) it'll work as "archive and install" too, bringing your current mail etc preferences and data to the new. Unless you want to play withe beta (many sw dont work with it) you will be ok with jaguar at least for a couple of months now (or longer)
