Is Leopard DVD Player or latest VLC multi-region?

VLC can deal with different regions, as long as you have set up the first region in that DVD player.
DVD Player of Mac OS X does not support changing regions multiple times.
Blame the evil movie industry (which is not as evil as RIAA but still). This explains why http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2397?viewlocale=en_US
Anyway. If you are e.g. in Region 1 and want to see some Region 2 movies, make System Preferences to Ignore all movie DVDs you insert.
Watch one movie of your preferred region, to make sure that the region is set to what you like, in that Region 1.
Now when you insert any other region than that DVD, they are ignored by DVD Player. Open VLC and you can watch the other region DVDs that you purchased legally.
