is my iMac G5 overclocked?

I bought an iMac G5 from ebay which was supposed to be 2.0 Ghz. Well, system profiler does report 2.0 Ghz, but the sticker on the bottom of the stand reads 1.6 Ghz. The fan on the machine speeds up very loudly anytime you use the computer, even for simple tasks like browsing through files in the finder. The systems also seems a bit unstable at times.

now I've done some research and the best I can tell the CPU isn't upgradable in these things, which means it has either been overclocked or somebody has taken two broken iMacs and made a single working one by using parts from both and that is how I ended up with a different stand or case than the motherboard.

But.. I'm curious if I were to take this thing apart, how could I tell what speed the CPU is supposed to be or if it may have been overclocked? Because if it is, I'd rather clock it back down to 1.6 ghz.

If you take it apart, you will have the opportunity to clean up the fans and other radiators.
