isight startup problem

Every few times i start up my macbook the isight green light comes on immediately and my isight programs such as photobooth and quicktime movie recorder fail to work. Restarting the macbook does not fix the problem, i have to shut it down and then restart. This gets frustrating and seem there should be an easy fix. Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a firmware malfunction. Did you buy this before or after Leopard came pre-installed? I had a lot of problems with things like this updating to Leopard on my Tiger macbook.
 
Do you have any widgets that use the iSight? Look in Activity Manager for any processes that might be using the iSight, or post the list here and we can investigate.
