Hey, my IBOOK G4 recently refused to boot up, only going as far as a grey circle with a slash through it in place of the little apple...So i took it to a pro and they managed to get it to boot up. But i eventually found some of the programs I had installed were missing, I have tried to install a number of ISO's since but they keep timing out on me...When I try mounting them with toast a black note comes up in multiple languages telling me to restart...Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Have you tried mounting the ISO's with disk utility?
Its sounds like you are getting kernel panics, generally these mean a hardware (RAM) issue but I have seen it occur when file corruption occurs in the operating system.
First thing to do is backup your files and format and re-install your OS, then install all your apps and restore your backup. It sounds like your OS is hosed.
