I've done a very silly thing...

I was on Finder, and I decided that I didn't like the fact that my username (the thing next to the little house picture) was my name but with lower case letters. So (here comes the stupid part) I changed it so that it had capital letters instead. Then I turned off my computer. I've turned it back on, and lost eveything. All my preferences have gone, my iTunes and iPhoto libraries have been wiped (a lot of the files don't even seem to be on my computer anymore) and all the files that were on my desktop have disappeared.

What have I done, what can I do to fix it? Please, please help.

First try changing it back to exactly what it previously was.
