Kensington PocketMouse problems

I searched and didn't find this issue. I have a Kensington PocketMouse Wireless which I've had for over a year now and really like it. Small, portable and works very well on my Windows machines. Except for the fact it eats batteries, it's a great travel mouse.

Now I'm trying to get it working on my new MacBook Pro, 10.4.7 and downloaded and installed MouseWorks 3.0. While the Mac itself recognizes the mouse and the cursor moves, the buttons are completely screwed up and it's unusable. The Mouseworks control panel insists there is *no* Kensington mouse connected and so I can't set it up. Anyone know how to fix this? Now answers at Kensington either.
