Mac connection to printer problems.....

I have a Mac computer (the small box one), and i am attempting to connect to a network printer.

The printer is a Lexmark (mac compatible) printer, it is on a Windows 2000 Server. I have no problem connecting and seeing the printer, i do a "IP Printer" and everything appears to go great.

However, i then attempt to print a document from Mac Word and it comes out in jibberish.

The mac computer IS on the network, i think it may be an issue with the printer? or not?

Any help would greatly be appreciated!

"Mac compatible" isn't quite that simple.
Except for Brother, no manufacturer of non-postscript printers provides OS X CUPS drivers for their printers. CUPS drivers are required for network/Windows printing.

Here are the sources for all the CUPS drivers I know of:
http://www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/
http://www.printfab.net
http://www.easysw.com/printpro/

(Lexmark is not well supported)

Good luck.

(PS - if that's a postscript printer, come back - there's something else wrong)
