Mac Osx 10.2 Crash On Launch

I have a g4 power mac 786mb ram, 466mhz, 28GB hardrive space. When I purchased the mac it was operating on Os 9, so I installed Osx 10.2. I didn't have any problems until I installed pro tools, now the computer crashes everytime I launch it. Do you know what the problem is. What can I do to get to Finder and how do I prevent this from happening again.

Is the operating system up to the latest version (10.2.8)? Was there a version requirement for Pro Tools to work properly? I'm guessing that you were using a previous version of OS X Jaguar that doesn't meet the requirements for Pro Tools.
