I know this prob wont go down to well on this site but how about apple release a mac shell with a MS OS (that is if MS would sell them it)(but i suppose they would) I think this would greatly increase apples apeal to pc buyers. Every 1 likes the look of macs but they are put off by the incopatability with pcs (even wth virtual pc etc.) think that if they reakesd such a "version." more people would but macs an even consider switchin once they find out how good they are.! any thoughts?

Why would we want to run an inferior operating system, like any version of Windozes, on a great machine like a Mac?

If anything Spinner, Apple would release an x86 of OSX, but that's not going to happen any time soon (if ever). The argument tends to go the other way round, a lot of people like OSX but don't want to pay the extra cash for a Mac over a cheap PC. Incompatibility tends to a problem from the Windows end, that's one of Apple's big switcher arguments - "Look, you can do anything you do on Windows, yes even Word, but it looks nicer and is easier to use".

Btw, where about in Scotland are you?

Paisley, though I was born in Glasgow, btw wheres the best place around here to buy mac products (an computers) PC world an braehead is useless and doesnt even know what mac software they have in stock i was once told " we are sent a box of random mac software an put it on the shelf, thats as much as I know!" by a member of staff lol

Scotsys is Scotland's main Apple Centre, they're on Great Western Road (the M8 end). Also John Lewis sells Macs and I think they might do software too. If you're after games then try macgold.co.uk, they've got everything and are quite cheap. I think Scotsys should have a demo G5 in soon.

An "Apple" shell for Windows would not be what Mac users want. PC users can already skin Windows XP to a certain extent.

But the 'good' stuff is more than just what meets the eye.

Yes, that's what I meant. It still doesn't change the feel of the OS much. Just the look.

Well, there's not much to change the feel of Windows except uninstalling it, or ditching your PC altogether.
