mac wont start up grey screen

hi guys when i turn on my mac i just get the grey screen with the apple and spinning circle thing, ive tried the command, apple p and r whilst starting up and i have also held apple and s whils turning on and typed the sbin fsck yf command and it says the volume macintosh HD appears to be ok, but i staill ant get past the grey screen any one any suggestions? i have just moved to spain and have no spanish to go into a computer shop !!!! so all help would be very gratefully received!!!

Well it sounds as if something screwed with your OS X System files. Revert to a backup to see if you can use that.
