Macs on Linux network...

I've got a linux server running my websites etc and acting as a hub for my home network also, which also contains a winXP box. I can see the network on the mac and copy files to the server but I can't access the mac directly from the PC - it always asks me for a username and password.

Where do I set that up on the Mac? It's not my Mac login username & password...

In your "Accounts" preference pane there is an option for any given account labelled "This account can login from Windows" or something. If you activate this on your account, then you will be able to connect to your Mac from the Windows box using your username and password (though only to your home directory and any folder within that).

System Preferences -> Sharing -> Personal File Sharing <on>
System Preferences -> Sharing -> Windows Sharing <on>

Jaguar pref, gone in Panther. The sharing pane should do it for you, as Zammo says.
