Mail.app junk filter broken?

I haven't seen anyone else post about this, but I can't believe I'm the only one suffering from this: Mail.app is no longer identifying ANY junk mail. I checked my junk filter, it's unchanged and active. It had been working fine for a couple of months in automatic mode (I just got my 1st mac a few months ago), but all of a sudden one day, it just stopped working. Now, no junk mails are identified at all. I put it back in training mode a week ago, but still no junk mails are tagged. VERY frustrating. I'm not sure what triggered it, but it may have something to do with one of the Software Updates I ran. (Which, as an aside, I notice often affect more than just the specific software you're updating!--but that's another story).
is anyone else experiencing this? I'm about to ditch Mail.app for something else if I can't fix this!

try turning off filtering. quit mail and restart and see if it works then. If not reset junk mail filtering back to default. It should work then
