message from admin threatening to cancel my account???

Hey guys... I got this e-mail from admin:

[[Dear user, the management of Macosx.com mailing system wants to let you know that Your e-mail account will be disabled because of improper using in next three days, if you are still wishing to use it, please, resign your account information.

Pay attention on attached file.

For security reasons attached file is password protected. The password is

The Management,
* * The Macosx.com team * * * * * * * * http://www.macosx.com]]

... and they attached a .exe file with instructions on it... it doesn't make sense at all... we're all MAC users, why would they send an .exe file, and why would they say I misuse my account??? I don't understand... all I do is send e-mails...

Has anyone received the same thing?

Sounds like a virus scam if I ever did see one. Possibly a malicious one by the contents of the e-mail.

would you like to forward it e.g. to sample@f-secure.com ? they can tell you which virus, bug etc it is.

I've had the same message. Just ignore/delete it. It's a virus.

The text is consistent with the virus w32.Netsky.K@mm, as well as some variants of Bagle/Beagle. Delete it, and as the wise one's say, aww, fogggeddaboudit!
