Missing HD Space

I am having a problem with my iMac. The 80 gig HD (74.4 gigs formatted) says that it has 69.55 gigs used and 4.85 gigs available. While looking for files to trash I found out that there is under 30 gigs worth of files on the HD. This is counting invisible items. I have checked it in the Finder and in the terminal using df -k. I have booted off of my 10.3 install DVD to run Disk First Aid and permission repairs, I have used Panther Cache Cleaner to run all the maintenance scripts and have even used it's deep cleaning functions.

I am completely stumped on this one.

Any ideas?
