missing photos in Iphoto

I have just realised that a whole year of pictures and video is missing from iphoto.

My 9 year old son has started using iphoto on my computer (he doing a photog course), so he might be to blame :).

But the weird thing is that I still have 6 years of pics, just last year missing. I have time machine installed but it only appears to go back one week, and this occurred about 2 weeks ago.

If they are not in the trash inside iPhoto, have a look inside normal trash, or see if they are somewhere else (if you remember any names of the images, or try guessing the names based on the naming scheme of the camera).

And please create a separate account (from System Preferences) for your son. Without admin privileges. That way any damage he would cause is limited to his own, limited account, and all your work, emails, photos etc are safe.
 
Maybe use spotlight to search, also what about using the pictures section in the finder on the left side at the bottom. Good luck, Dave.
