I am running Mac OS 10.6 on a Macbook Pro. I am outputting video files to a projector, which is attached via VGA, for a theatre production in rehearsal. I have set the external display as a additional screen instead of a mirror.
Previously I have used an analog vision mixer which has allowed me to fade/cut the signal going to the projector when I don't want anything on screen. This time I am trying to eradicate the mixer, but I don't want to lose the ability to mute the external display, especially when I am doing work that I don't want the rehearsal room to see. A simple requirement but I can't seem to find a way to do it!
I know that I can quickly turn off my main MBP display with the Ctrl + Shift + Eject shortcut.
Is there a similar shortcut that would allow me to quickly mute my external display? or is there a way to create this command?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
